Pavelich, a 5-foot-8 center, was an All-American at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He assisted on Mike Eruzione's game-winning goal that took down the heavily favored Soviet Union in the 1980 Olympics. Pavelich played in the NHL from 1981 to 1987 and in the 1991-92 season. Then he found the back of the net twice to help the Maple Leafs jump out to an early 2-0 lead on their way to another rout of the Edmonton Oilers.
